The Council in exercising its legislative authority may implement and pass bylaws. It is required by law for the Municipality to conduct public participation to afford the public the opportunity to make representations and comments, after having vetted the bylaw.
There is a need for the review of the bylaws for to ensure legal compliance with applicable law, compliance with internal governance practices and also to remove the presence of unsound governance practices.
It is against this background that Matatiele Local Municipality will conduct stakeholder engagement sessions at wards 06,19, and 20.
